Zastupnik u Europskom parlamentu i član Odbora za unutarnje tržište i zaštitu potrošača (IMCO), doc. dr. sc. Tomislav Sokol, imenovan je danas izvjestiteljem Europske pučke stranke (EPP) za politiku tržišnog natjecanja. Sokol će tako biti odgovoran za formiranje stajališta Europskog parlamenta o politici tržišnog natjecanja s aspekta unutarnjeg tržišta i zaštite potrošača.
Ova funkcija dolazi u trenutku kada se u europskim institucijama intenzivirao rad na novim mehanizmima prava tržišnog natjecanja, naročito kroz Paket o digitalnim uslugama. Naime, od 10 000 internetskih platformi, koliko ih sudjeluje na digitalnom tržištu Europske unije, 7 najvećih platformi ostvaruje čak 69% ukupnog prihoda u ovom sektoru.
Znajući da se pravilima tržišnog natjecanja štiti integritet jedinstvenog tržišta i omogućuje ravnopravan položaj poduzetnika ali i da se navedenim pravnim mehanizmima nedvojbeno doprinosi boljoj zaštiti potrošačkih prava i poticanju inovativnosti, Europska komisija planira novim tržišnim instrumentima regulirati ulogu velikih internetskih platformi koje na tržištu djeluju kao nadzornici.

'Instituti prava tržišnog natjecanja među najkompleksnijim su u čitavoj pravnoj jurisprudenciji. Stoga mi je izrazito zadovoljstvo što ću moći dati svoj doprinos u ovoj važnoj temi kao izvjestitelj najsnažnije političke grupacije u Europskom parlamentu. Pojačan nadzor na digitalnim tržištima ključan je dio politike Europske komisije, a to je uostalom bila i politička poruka Ursule von der Leyen koja je prilikom preuzimanja dužnosti predsjednice Europske komisije ukazala na to da pravila tržišnog natjecanja moraju biti spremna za suvremeno gospodarstvo. Ne možemo samo pasivno promatrati kako dominantne platforme koriste svoj položaj i suprotno pravilima tržišnog natjecanja sprječavaju razvoj ostalih subjekata na digitalnom tržištu' - ističe Sokol te ukazuje da je samo u 2019. Komisija izrekla novčanu kaznu Googleu u iznosu od 1,49 milijardi eura zbog zloupotrebe vladajućeg položaja na tržištu čime je prekršio protumonopolska pravila Europske unije.

Naime, brzorastuće tržište internetske trgovine u Europi u 2019. vrijedilo je više od 600 milijardi eura, pri čemu više od polovine Europljana kupuju na internetu, a postoji daljnja tendencija rasta ovog tržišta. U sklopu nove funkcije Sokol će tako kreirati mišljenje o instrumentima tržišnog natjecanja kojima su kažnjeni ili kojima je pokrenut postupak u odnosu na neke od najvećih subjekata na digitalnom tržištu Europske unije - Googlea i Amazona.

Podsjetimo, zastupnik Sokol ranije je imenovan i izvjestiteljem EPP-a za usluge na jedinstvenom tržištu te Strategiju Europske komisije 'od polja do stola'.

Zastupnik u Europskom parlamentu i član Odbora za unutarnje tržište i zaštitu potrošača (IMCO), doc. dr. sc. Tomislav Sokol, imenovan je danas izvjestiteljem Europske pučke stranke (EPP) za politiku tržišnog natjecanja. Sokol će tako biti odgovoran za formiranje stajališta Europskog parlamenta o politici tržišnog natjecanja s aspekta unutarnjeg tržišta i zaštite potrošača.
Ova funkcija dolazi u trenutku kada se u europskim institucijama intenzivirao rad na novim mehanizmima prava tržišnog natjecanja, naročito kroz Paket o digitalnim uslugama. Naime, od 10 000 internetskih platformi, koliko ih sudjeluje na digitalnom tržištu Europske unije, 7 najvećih platformi ostvaruje čak 69% ukupnog prihoda u ovom sektoru.
Znajući da se pravilima tržišnog natjecanja štiti integritet jedinstvenog tržišta i omogućuje ravnopravan položaj poduzetnika ali i da se navedenim pravnim mehanizmima nedvojbeno doprinosi boljoj zaštiti potrošačkih prava i poticanju inovativnosti, Europska komisija planira novim tržišnim instrumentima regulirati ulogu velikih internetskih platformi koje na tržištu djeluju kao nadzornici.

'Instituti prava tržišnog natjecanja među najkompleksnijim su u čitavoj pravnoj jurisprudenciji. Stoga mi je izrazito zadovoljstvo što ću moći dati svoj doprinos u ovoj važnoj temi kao izvjestitelj najsnažnije političke grupacije u Europskom parlamentu. Pojačan nadzor na digitalnim tržištima ključan je dio politike Europske komisije, a to je uostalom bila i politička poruka Ursule von der Leyen koja je prilikom preuzimanja dužnosti predsjednice Europske komisije ukazala na to da pravila tržišnog natjecanja moraju biti spremna za suvremeno gospodarstvo. Ne možemo samo pasivno promatrati kako dominantne platforme koriste svoj položaj i suprotno pravilima tržišnog natjecanja sprječavaju razvoj ostalih subjekata na digitalnom tržištu' - ističe Sokol te ukazuje da je samo u 2019. Komisija izrekla novčanu kaznu Googleu u iznosu od 1,49 milijardi eura zbog zloupotrebe vladajućeg položaja na tržištu čime je prekršio protumonopolska pravila Europske unije.

Naime, brzorastuće tržište internetske trgovine u Europi u 2019. vrijedilo je više od 600 milijardi eura, pri čemu više od polovine Europljana kupuju na internetu, a postoji daljnja tendencija rasta ovog tržišta. U sklopu nove funkcije Sokol će tako kreirati mišljenje o instrumentima tržišnog natjecanja kojima su kažnjeni ili kojima je pokrenut postupak u odnosu na neke od najvećih subjekata na digitalnom tržištu Europske unije - Googlea i Amazona.

Podsjetimo, zastupnik Sokol ranije je imenovan i izvjestiteljem EPP-a za usluge na jedinstvenom tržištu te Strategiju Europske komisije 'od polja do stola'.

Tomislav Sokol postao izvjestitelj EPP-a za politiku tržišnog natjecanja, kreirat će mišljenje o postupcima protiv Googlea i Amazona

Zastupnik u Europskom parlamentu i član Odbora za unutarnje tržište i zaštitu potrošača (IMCO), doc. dr. sc. Tomislav Sokol, imenovan je danas izvjestiteljem Europske pučke stranke (EPP) za politiku tržišnog natjecanja. Sokol će tako biti odgovoran za formiranje stajališta Europskog parlamenta o politici tržišnog natjecanja s aspekta unutarnjeg tržišta i zaštite potrošača.
Ova funkcija dolazi u trenutku kada se u europskim institucijama intenzivirao rad na novim mehanizmima prava tržišnog natjecanja, naročito kroz Paket o digitalnim uslugama. Naime, od 10 000 internetskih platformi, koliko ih sudjeluje na digitalnom tržištu Europske unije, 7 najvećih platformi ostvaruje čak 69% ukupnog prihoda u ovom sektoru.
