Nizozemski znanstvenici izvijestili su o iznimno dugoj infekciji covida-19 kod muškarca koji je umro prošle godine, nakon što je bio pozitivan na virus 613 dana, te su upozorili na opasnost da se kod takvih pacijenata razviju opasne mutacije virusa, prenosi njemačka novinska agencija dpa.
Stariji muškarac, koji je bio oslabljen drugim bolestima, primljen je u bolnicu u Amsterdamu u veljači 2022. s infekcijom covid-19, navodi se u priopćenju.
Bio je kontinuirano pozitivan na koronavirus sve do svoje smrti u listopadu 2023. - ukupno 613 dana.
Prethodno su zabilježeni i drugi slučajevi vrlo dugih infekcija kod ljudi čiji se imunosni sustav nije mogao uspješno boriti protiv koronavirusa.

Znanstvenici predvođeni Magdom Vergouwe sa Sveučilišta u Amsterdamu planiraju predstaviti rezultate na kongresu Europskog društva za kliničku mikrobiologiju i infektivne bolesti u Barceloni od 27. do 30. travnja.
Slučaj je zanimljiv i znanstvenicima jer kod tako dugo zaraženih koronavirus može posebno snažno mutirati.
To krije rizik od pojave varijanti virusa koje mogu lakše nadvladati imunosni sustav zdravih ljudi.
Nizozemski znanstvenici uzimali su kontinuirano uzorke od muškarca kako bi analizirali genski materijal koronavirusa.
Pronašli su ukupno više od 50 mutacija u usporedbi s omikron varijantom BA.1 koja je u to vrijeme kružila, uključujući i one koje bi omogućile virusu da izbjegne imunosnu obranu ljudskog organizma.
Samo 21 dan nakon što je muškarac primio lijek protiv koronavirusa, virus je pokazao znakove otpornosti na njega.
Čovjek je na kraju umro zbog razbuktavanja jedne od ranijih bolesti od kojih je patio.

Koliko je poznato nikoga nije zarazio mutiranim verzijama koronavirusa SARS-CoV-2 koje su se u njemu razvile.
Ovaj slučaj "naglašava rizik od pojave kod pacijenata s oslabljenim imunitetom novih varijanti SARS-CoV-2 koje izbjegavaju imunosni sustav", poručili su znanstvenici u priopćenju za javnost.
Takav razvoj virusa kod jednog pacijenta mogao bi dovesti do pojave jedinstvenih varijanti, upozoravaju i ističu da je važno pomno pratiti razvoj koronavirusa kod osoba oslabljenog imuniteta.
Postoji rizik da se te varijante, koje su otpornije na obranu koju pruža imunosni sustav zdravih ljudi, pojave i prošire u društvu, dodali su znanstvenici.

Nizozemski znanstvenici izvijestili su o iznimno dugoj infekciji covida-19 kod muškarca koji je umro prošle godine, nakon što je bio pozitivan na virus 613 dana, te su upozorili na opasnost da se kod takvih pacijenata razviju opasne mutacije virusa, prenosi njemačka novinska agencija dpa.
Stariji muškarac, koji je bio oslabljen drugim bolestima, primljen je u bolnicu u Amsterdamu u veljači 2022. s infekcijom covid-19, navodi se u priopćenju.
Bio je kontinuirano pozitivan na koronavirus sve do svoje smrti u listopadu 2023. - ukupno 613 dana.
Prethodno su zabilježeni i drugi slučajevi vrlo dugih infekcija kod ljudi čiji se imunosni sustav nije mogao uspješno boriti protiv koronavirusa.

Znanstvenici predvođeni Magdom Vergouwe sa Sveučilišta u Amsterdamu planiraju predstaviti rezultate na kongresu Europskog društva za kliničku mikrobiologiju i infektivne bolesti u Barceloni od 27. do 30. travnja.
Slučaj je zanimljiv i znanstvenicima jer kod tako dugo zaraženih koronavirus može posebno snažno mutirati.
To krije rizik od pojave varijanti virusa koje mogu lakše nadvladati imunosni sustav zdravih ljudi.
Nizozemski znanstvenici uzimali su kontinuirano uzorke od muškarca kako bi analizirali genski materijal koronavirusa.
Pronašli su ukupno više od 50 mutacija u usporedbi s omikron varijantom BA.1 koja je u to vrijeme kružila, uključujući i one koje bi omogućile virusu da izbjegne imunosnu obranu ljudskog organizma.
Samo 21 dan nakon što je muškarac primio lijek protiv koronavirusa, virus je pokazao znakove otpornosti na njega.
Čovjek je na kraju umro zbog razbuktavanja jedne od ranijih bolesti od kojih je patio.

Koliko je poznato nikoga nije zarazio mutiranim verzijama koronavirusa SARS-CoV-2 koje su se u njemu razvile.
Ovaj slučaj "naglašava rizik od pojave kod pacijenata s oslabljenim imunitetom novih varijanti SARS-CoV-2 koje izbjegavaju imunosni sustav", poručili su znanstvenici u priopćenju za javnost.
Takav razvoj virusa kod jednog pacijenta mogao bi dovesti do pojave jedinstvenih varijanti, upozoravaju i ističu da je važno pomno pratiti razvoj koronavirusa kod osoba oslabljenog imuniteta.
Postoji rizik da se te varijante, koje su otpornije na obranu koju pruža imunosni sustav zdravih ljudi, pojave i prošire u društvu, dodali su znanstvenici.
